Almost any outdoor application that requires a YSI or SonTek sensor (or both!) can collect more data, safer, faster, and with less expense by deploying sensors on a vehicle platform. YSI collaborated with global experts to design the HYCAT, i3XO, and rQPOD vehicles. These platforms can go anywhere, carrying not only our sensors but also side-scan sonar, advanced DVL, and more.

Our vehicle platforms are used for applications such as:

  • Bathymetric and hydrographic surveys of reservoirs

  • Investigating bridge scour

  • Search and rescue missions

  • Seagrass mapping

  • Harmful algal bloom dynamics

  • Discharge measurements

  • Locating unexploded ordnance
